Choose Your Roof Style
In Naperville, IL – due to the weather, climate, home styles, and pricing – the majority of homes we do roof replacements for are done with asphalt shingles. Yet, we can replace your roof with a variety of different styles and types of materials.
Since most homes get asphalt shingles, let us fill you in on what we recommend. We use the highest-quality, most eco-friendly shingles on the market from Malarkey Roofing Products. Malarkey shingles aren’t your average shingles. They’re made from weather-resistant rubberized asphalt and upcycled materials to reduce landfill waste. Plus, their smog-reducing granules help clean the air.
Better performance and better for the environment – that’s a Malarkey shingle. Some manufacturers offer kickbacks to contractors for using their lesser-quality products. For the record, we do not get a cut from Malarkey. We use their shingles because they are the best on the market. When you work with us and get new Malarkey shingles, you can take advantage of our exclusive Malarkey Emerald Pro warranty to give you peace of mind and confidence in your roof.

FAQs
Yes, our estimates are always complimentary. We use a detailed 29-point inspection checklist to ensure we have everything we need to provide you with the most accurate estimate possible. During the inspection, we’ll do a thorough check of your roof and attic to search for ventilation problems, insulation issues, and more.
When your roof is failing, you need it fixed immediately. Typically, we complete a single-family roof replacement in 1-2 days. Yes, you actually heard that right. Keep in mind that while many roofs can be replaced in a day, other factors such as access, size, height, and steepness of the roof may extend the process to two or more days. We do not rush through our projects, we take the time needed to do it right. We have our team and process dialed in to be timely and efficient too.
The final price tag of your roof replacement depends on a few factors like roof size, steepness, height and selected roofing system. This is why we need to come see your roof and do an inspection first in order to give you an accurate estimate. For reference, the average Naperville homeowner getting a roof replacement will spend around $15,000 to $18,000 on a new roof. Request a Quote today.
Here are some tips to help you figure out when it might be time for a roof replacement:
- Look at Your Shingles: Keep an eye out for any shingle-related shenanigans. Are they decaying, cracked, or mysteriously missing? If so, your roof might be in need of a little TLC to get it back in tip-top shape.
- 20+ Year Old Roof: If your roof has reached or exceeded the 20-year mark or if it shows visible signs of wear and tear, it's an opportunity to address potential concerns associated with an aging roof.
- Roof Sags: A sagging roof is like a “heads-up” from your home! It's a sign that trapped moisture has been causing mischief beneath your roof, particularly toward the lowest areas. Take a stroll around your property, step back across the street, and look at the roof from different angles. A healthy roof should stand tall and straight, so if you spot any drooping or sagging, it's a clear sign that your roof needs help.
- Check for Leaks: Nobody wants to get the surprise of water dripping from the ceiling. If you notice any leaks making an unwanted appearance indoors, it's a clear sign that your roof needs a helping hand.
- Peek Inside Your Gutters: Take a peek inside your gutters. If you spot an unusual collection of asphalt granules hanging out there, your shingles might be shedding more than they should. It's time to investigate further!
While these are some signs you can spot yourself, it's always a good idea to call in a professional roofer for a more thorough inspection. They have the eagle eyes needed to detect even the sneakiest issues that might be lurking up above. Request a Quote today.
Generally speaking, our recommendation is you should plan to not be home while we work on the roof, mainly because roof replacements are really noisy. But the decision is completely up to you – just make sure to account for sounds of construction if you’ll be home.
Technically, yes you can, but we don’t recommend it. It puts a lot of strain on your roof deck. Think about how much all the shingles on your roof weigh (a lot), then think of doubling that weight. While most of the time, this doesn’t cause structural damage, it can happen. In this instance, the cost of fixing that damage may well exceed whatever you save by not tearing off the old roof.
Other reasons overlays are not a good idea are:
- If the old roof isn’t torn off, there is no way to inspect the roof decking (plywood), and you could end up adding your new roof to an unstable, defective or damaged foundation.
- Additional layers of shingles traps more heat, which strains and decreases the life of the new shingles.
- Voided Warranties: We can’t offer a warranty on a layover since we can’t ensure the installation quality of the original roof
In summary, it’s not a wise decision to put a new roof on top of an old roof.
