Super helpful after our home suffered storm damage.
From responding promptly to doing a full roof inspection personally and taking pictures to document the damage, we couldn’t have been in better hands. We had other companies come out, and they just sent drones up and gave a blanket quote. We appreciated Pedro and his team walking the entire roofline and documenting everything to precision. He handled the claim with the insurance agent from start to finish and fought for us to get the maximum. (He even searched the village building ordinances and sent documents and code adherence articles to the adjuster.) We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.George T. -
Our House Looks Even better Than it did Than Before the Storm
... pleasant to work with from the beginning when he came out to check our roof for hail damage after a big storm came through… After he finished his inspection he showed us pictures of the damage on our roof and took his time to explain the insurance claim process in great detail. It put me and my wife at ease knowing that we were dealing with a legit roofing company that not only was local but also knowledgeable in helping folks with insurance claims. My insurance company ended up paying to replace our roof, gutters, and other miscellaneous things that got damaged in the storm. The Happy Roofing team came out to complete the work as scheduled and we couldn't be happier to have chosen them as our contractor.Victor S. -
We are very happy with our new roof and siding!
Our roof problems started with a leak in my father's living room. Pedro came out right away and found that the entire roof needed replacing. He put a tarp on the roof and dealt with my father's insurance to make sure that everything that needed to be replaced was approved. They set a date for replacement and replaced the roof in two days…The workers were efficient and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left…I would highly recommend Happy Roofing!Diane B. -
They are worth it down to the penny!
Pedro and his team of dedicated pros were extremely patient not only with me but with my insurance. I was completely unaware/uneducated about my insurance claim, and Pedro took the time to not only walk me step-by-step through it but also represented me by taking over my claim with my insurance!!! Working with [my insurance company] was like pulling teeth to get adjustments made to the claim but that didn’t hold him back… Being a homeowner can be stressful at times (especially with insurance claims) but when you come across a company like Happy Roofing that is dedicated to giving you a world-class experience, I think everyone should know… I am utterly obsessed with how beautiful my new roof, siding, and gutters look”.Belen B.

Beware of Roofing Scammers
Like it or not, there are a lot of “roofing contractors” (many of whom aren’t even actual roofers!) who target storm damage areas. They will swarm in offering to waive deductibles (see our FAQ here about why this is a problem), slap up a chincy roof that’s bound to have issues or fail before you know it, and then get out of dodge
As a homeowner, here are a few ways you can be smart and avoid hiring a bad roofing contractor:
- Ask for recommendations
- Look at Google Reviews
- Talk to more than one roofer
- Verify licensing and insurance
- Ask about industry certifications
- Ask about a workmanship warranty
- Ask about experience with insurance claims
- Work with a local roofer who will be available to help should something go wrong
FAQs
Yes, it usually does! But here’s the thing, insurance policies sometimes sneak in storm damage exclusions (often without you even realizing it). So, be proactive and review your policy's terms , or chat with your insurance agent to make sure you've got the proper coverage in case a bad storm rolls in.
If you've already filed a claim and had the adjuster check out the damage, it's still a good idea to get a qualified roofer to take a look at your roof and review the adjuster's estimate. This way, you can be sure nothing gets overlooked and have confidence that you're getting treated fairly by your insurance company.
So, when a big storm hits, insurance companies usually decide to jack up everyone's rates, no matter what. But here's the kicker: If you don't file your own claim, your rate hike could be paying for everyone else’s damage except yours. So, as long as you've got legitimate damage, do yourself a favor and file a claim It's the smart move to make.
No, we do not because for starters, in Illinois, as in many other states – it is illegal for a roofing contractor to “waive” or absorb the insurance deductible for a homeowner. In reality, when roofing contractors say they'll “waive'”the deductible, they usually end up cutting corners to cover the lost income, and you could end up shelling out a lot more for your roof repairs than the money you initially saved. Avoid sketchy contractors who take shortcuts and offer to illegally waive your insurance deductible just to land a contract. Work with an experienced roofing contractor who will take care of you, help you get a fair settlement, and get a new roof (or roof repairs) done right. Schedule an inspection today.
The honest, unfortunate truth is that it can take a while – longer than anyone wants it to take because we’re dealing with insurance. We’ve seen the process take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. The good thing though is that you have insurance to help pay for fixing your roof damage! If you choose to get our help helping you navigate the insurance claim, then we can take a lot of the hassle and stress of it all off your plate and handle it for you.
